6.3 Privacy
The Student Picker does not collect or transmit any personal information off of your device.
By default, the application checks for updates every time it is launched. Section 5.4 of the documentation describes how this check can be disabled. To check for updates, the application requests a single text file containing version information from cvaugh.dev: https://cvaugh.dev/student-picker/version.properties. This request is logged in the web server's access log. If you have concerns about this logging, please contact studentpicker@cvaugh.dev.
The log files generated by the Student Picker contain no personally identifiable information. Classes and students are referred to by their randomly generated identifiers, which consist of a random string of numbers and letters such as 26c6f9e7-7b85-4fb5-b082-0e1f59c03527.
